Focus
All programs have Outdoor Education and Fun as
their primary focus.
Outdoor Education is an experiential (i.e. hands on)
method of learning. It focuses on personal and social development, environmental awareness
and recreation education, through interaction with others and the natural environment.
The general focus of Camp
Collingwood is to provide a
positive, secure learning environment in which the personal growth and development of
participating campers can be maximized.
Activities at Camp Collingwood enable campers to learn about
themselves, the environment and others through guided direct experiences, away from the
usual settings of the school and home. Through these experiences the campers are
encouraged to develop independence, confidence, and self-esteem whilst promoting
co-operation, communication and tolerance within groups.
A verbal student report is provided for each camper at
the end of a weekly program and a certificate of participation at the conclusion of
his/her stay.
Parents/guardians are always very welcome to contact
the Director at (905) 720-0865 should any further information be required. |
