Who We Are...

Susie Brathwaite, Vice President, Sales
Susie brings years of sales experience and flair to the
company. She enjoys traditional and sport climbing, snowboarding,
long boarding, surfing and competitive gymnastics.

Brent "el Capitan" Brathwaite, Vice President Marketing
and Advertising
Brenton is a High Angle Rescue Instructor (trainer). He
enjoys speed climbing, rappelling, long-boarding, hang gliding, scuba
and kite-boarding

empower them to develop values, attitudes and beliefs that sustain them for life"

Philosophy
"Our
Adventure Sports Camps are about: people temporarily living and working together in a small community;
reflecting on contemporary living in order to.... adopt a basic and environmentally sound
lifestyle while.... ensuring individuals are valued and feel that they can make a
contribution to others and the environment.
Our programs enable: our clients
to learn about themselves and to be challenged to perform at a personal best level; while
learning about other people and the outdoor environment.... in an active, safe and health
promoting way.... in unique settings".

Special Goals
- To provide opportunities for participants to develop leadership,
tolerance and teamwork, and to learn with and from each other in a range of outdoor
settings.
- To provide opportunities for participants to develop self esteem and
to form values, ideas and opinions of their own.
- To provide participants with opportunities to experience genuine
adventure and to be challenged physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally
through outdoor activities and experiences.
- To provide learning activities of sufficient depth, breadth and
variety to enable participants to experience success and to discover their own abilities
and interests.
- To provide learning experiences, which will challenge, extend and
motivate participants to explore and develop their potential.
- To provide a variety of learning experiences that are clearly linked
and that assist participants to make connections between theory and practice.
- To provide a friendly, safe, caring and supportive learning
environment.
- To provide an atmosphere which encourages participants to show
consideration for the natural environment.
- To provide opportunities for campers to develop life long interests
and skills.
- To develop in participants a sense of responsibility towards
property, equipment and venues.
- To serve both as an example and as a resource for schools in the
development of comprehensive outdoor education programs.
BlackRock Climbers provides:
- A wide range of education programmes for students and campers from
years 8 to 18.
- Specialised programmes for students studying
rock climbing outdoor
education units.
- Programmes for students attending special schools.
- Professional development programmes for teachers, parents, and
trainers.
- Specialist programmes for community and business organisations.
BlackRock Climbers runs a range of
climbing programs using a wide variety of activities and co-operates closely with
schools and other users to structure programmes which best suit their needs.
